BlogHerFood 2011: Part One

Oh my goodness, I don’t even know where to begin! This trip was UH-MA-ZING. I flew into ATL and headed straight for hotel to do a quick change, freshen up, and then head over to the HardRock across the street for RockHer! I didn’t lug my big camera with me because I really wanted to have my hands free to meet everyone!

My roomie, Brandi, helped organize the event so she has a fabulous re-cap of the RockHer evening! Fun little side-note, Brandi and I never bet before this trip. For all i knew she could have been crazy! hah But she was an absolute doll! We hit it off immediately! 🙂

{The view from our room!}

After RockHer, I hit up the infamous Flip Burger Boutique with some of the lovely peeps and was SUPER impressed by their food and ever more so by their liquid nitrogen martinis (SO COOL!):

My favorite part about Food Blogging conferences is making new friends. The Food Blogging community ROCKS!

Some of the people I thoroughly enjoyed meeting/hanging out with:

  • Brandi - Branappetit: my sweet southern roomie!
  • Sues & Chels - We are Not Martha: I met this lovely duo at Foodbuzz Festival in November and had a blast catching up with them this trip!
  • Natalie - Oven Love: My newfound ‘twin’! 🙂 She is super sweet and super fun!
  • Jessica - Jessica Lynn Writes: Super Sweet Military wife that is moving to Italy soon (I’m SO jealous)
  • Erin - Erin’s Food Files: Another lovely southern gal! She showed me her GORGEOUS wedding photos!
  • Katie - Ruffles and Truffles: A fellow FL blogger! She was sweet and gave me a lift back to the hotel the first night!
  • Mandy - Home with Mandy: Get’s the best hair award- girfriend rocked the curly hair (she had the cutest hair flowers too!)
  • Carrie - Field of Cakes: Hilarious! I LOVED getting to know her!
  • Leslie - The Hungry Housewife: What a fun & high-energy gal! Super funny!
  • Susan - She’s becoming Doughmestic: This one sure knows how to organize one heck of a party (RockHer)
  • Danica - Danica’s Daily: She and her hubby are such an adorable sweet couple! I loved chatting with them!
  • Farihah - Spice’s Bites Our sweet Atlanta local / tourguide!

And also some of the friends I met at Food Blog Forum last month, and got to re-connect with this trip:

  • Lindsay - Love and Olive Oil: my awesome web designer! She rocks!
  • Jessica - The Novice Chef: holy cow this girl makes me laugh! She is super fun and super witty!
  • Jaclyn - Food plus Words: another extremely humorous lady! I laughed SO much this weekend!
  • Julie - The Little Kitchen: We met briefly at FBF, but got to really chat this trip! We live an hour apart so you better believe there will be meet-ups!
  • Jim - Comfort in Crumbs: I didn’t actually meet him at FBF, but we were both there (and actually sitting is the same row! crazy!).

You should probably check out their blogs! 🙂

I’ll be back tonight with the second installment of my BlogHerFood re-cap! Hopefully this will tie you over until then!

I’m so glad I had the opportunity to meet you this past weekend! Now that there are so many of us Florida bloggers, we need to try to have smaller gatherings so we can stay in touch.

I couldn’t agree more! 🙂 Meet ups without crazy minute to minute schedules sounds glorious!
