Capital Grille

Last night, the hubs and I went to Capital Grille to celebrate our anniversary.  Best meal experience ever. Hands Down! They treated us like we hung the moon. Expensive? Yes. Worth every penny? Definitely.

Mike made a reservation a day or 2 before and they asked if it was a special occasion.  Mike said, “Yes, actually it’s our anniversary.” When we arrived for our 6:30 reservation and the hostess wished us a happy anniversary and we were seated toward the back of the restaraunt. Our table had xoxo confetti sprinkled lightly across the table, and there was a little handwritten Happy Anniversary note propped up in the corner of the table. We felt special already!

Our waitress came right over and thanked us for choosing to celebrate our special occastion there.  She took our drink order and began telling us about their signature cocktail, “Stoli Doli” (Pineapple infused Vodka).  I’m not a vodka fan so I kinda brushed it off.  A few moments later she showed up with to little complementary samples of the Stoli Doli’s. W.O.W. = incredible. Smart lady to offer a little sample!

As we looked over the menu, our sweet waitress came by with a little treat and said, “While you are looking over your menu, I had the chef whip a little something up for you!” She gave us each a Fried Shrimp with this incredible sweet corn salsa! YUM. We were starting to feel like Mr & Mrs Trump. haha Seriously. So, after getting over how delicious everything was already (and we hadn’t ordered a thing yet!) we finally decided on our salad and dinner selections.

For Starters, I ordered:

The Capital Grille Chopped Salad
A combination of crisp, fresh seasonal vegetables, served on mixed
greens with housemade croutons and drizzled with olive vinaigrette

It was DELICIOUS! There was Asparagus, Green Beans, Chick Peas, Sweet Corn, Red & Orange Tomatoes, Atrichoke Hearts, Fresh Mozzerella… it was SOOO tasty. The light olive vinaigrette was the perfect pair.

Mike ordered:

Tender, baby spinach leaves, onions and mushrooms meet the warmth of our signature
bacon dressing. Chopped egg and smoked bacon are sprinkled on top for good measure.

His salad was equally delicious!!!

On to the main course -  I ordered:

A perennial favorite, cooked to your wishes and served au jus (Seasoned and broiled to create delicate porcini mushroom crust with a light drizzling of premium 12-year aged balsamic.)

The filet doesn’t normally come with the Porcini mushroom crust (this picture is without it), but they will make your steak with ANY of their signature rubs upon request! I was SOOO happy with my choice! The balsamic drizzle was re-donk!

Mike ordered:

You won’t find a more flavorful steak. Our New York strip is dry aged
and hand cut in-house. We then grill to your specifications for a robust steak
that is served au jus with no need for other adornment.

He didn’t request anything special (my little steak purist!) 🙂 It was incredible as is.  Both of our steaks were cooked exactly how we requested them.  Mike’s was perfectly medium-rare and mine was perfectly medium. I kept looking at Mike during dinner saying, “Holy cow - this is SO good. It’s the best meal I’ve ever had…” I probably said it at least 8 times haha!

We enjoyed our steaks and shared a side of:

Baked Campanelle pasta and fresh Lobster meat, tossed in a Mascarpone,
Havarti and Grana Padano cream sauce, topped with Panko bread crumbs
and grated white cheddar.Photo Source

Holy Cow. This was over the top good.  I have never ever tasted a more delicious lobster mac n’ cheese.  It came out gooey and cheesy with super tender, delicious, and huge pieces of lobster dispersed throughout. It was a toss up to whether I liked the filet or this lobster mac better!

At this point in the meal, we were completely STUFFED. I had half of my 10 oz filet left plus half of the lobster mac (hooray for a killer lunch today!!).  We decided to just order some coffee.

Next thing we know our lovely waitress brings us a complimentary slice of this to share:

Chocolate lovers will rhapsodize over this rich, dense dream of a cake. A hint of espresso, fresh raspberries, whipped cream and Melba sauce make for an unforgettable finish to any meal.

(Ours looked just like this sans candle)

Could this night get any better?! This cake was PHENOMENAL. I loved loved loved it’s dense rich texture and hint of espresso in the background. KILLER. It paired fabulously with our coffee. Right after she placed the cake on the table, she pulled out a camera and took a photo of us.  About 7 minutes later she had a printed photo in a card for us! So cool! Such a nice touch!

When our dear waitress (we loved her more and more as the night went on) brought back my left overs, Mike commented to her how the coffee was delicious! She told us that they fresh grind it right before they brew it. Then, when she came back with our bill she showed me that she was slipping a small container filled with coffee into our to-go bag.  She said, “So you can make some for breakfast tomorrow!” Seriously, could this gem of a woman spoil us ANY more?

At the end of the evening she gave us her card: her name is Michelle Fisher. If you are ever at the Palm Beach Garden’s Capital Grille - do yourself a favor and request this woman! She will make your special occasion absolutely perfect!!!

I LOVE good service at a restaurant. I went out to dinner tonight with my mom and we had the worst server ever. We didnt know what to do, but we still gave her a tip but we didnt give her as much as she could have gotten if she had been more attentive and had gotten our orders correct!
